Default Have you ever farmed in Final Fantasy Tactics?

With all this fuss about farm/not farm I've just remembered the good old Final Fantasy Tactics days in PSX.

I've realized I farmed that game. How? really simple: you got exp for EVERY action your pet did. You attack? Exp. You cure? Exp. Everything apart from moving gave you Exp.

So what I used to do was round the last standing foe (the field was squared like chess tables). Some attacked him, and some monked him. I remember of some stages doing that again and again for like 3 hours, leveling up various times. It seems I've always liked farming. Am I a simple minded? xDDDD

Anyone else did that?

P.D. I like chess too

hahahahaha yes i did the same exact thing, when i played tactics on my ps2, i had the game shark for ps1 so i didnt need to farm, but on ps2 i would box the enemy in, and have everyone using silly skills that didnt hurt the enemy much, and i would have one character heal them if necesary

tactics was fun as hell, but the later quests were impossible if not extremely high level

Tactics is my all time favourite game. As gamespot says in its Greatest Games Ever: "If Shakespeare made a game"

Better storyline that the "official" series, where in every game you are a lone hero that must save the world... xD

Dunno if someone would play it now (its worth, believe me), but:

When Delita stabs the girl in the ending made me shiver, totally unexpected!

I called it "family feud." Speed broke the remaining enemy to 1, then had my characters bop each other for xp :P

I couldnt beat it; the enemy's where TOO good because of the farming i did.

I restarted play'n it then only did spell XP to level the spells not the chars them selfs then i broke the disk a week later(accedent).

never got past the lava area's.

FF7 was lame; FF8 had a better system.
FF9 had a crappy system too
FF10 took to long to fill that damn chart even if you cheated.

I think FFX had the best levelling system among all.
It allows all your characters to do everything, apart from using each other's overdrive...but there is the Entrust skill.
FFX doesn't take that long to level up if you do the AP trick.
You'd get approximately 2,000,000 AP from a 10-minute or so battle.
Here:

Edit:
Thats not a cheat or a gameshark or whatever.
Its similar to the 55 monk build
Just customize a few weapons and overdrive points and you're good to go.

I don't remember it that hard. Sincerely I can't tell to which level I grew up by farming, but I remember doing a lot of the game with Ramza and Orlandou lvl99. The "copy-weapon" bug helped a lot, with 2 escaliburs you got 2xHaste and max damage (IIRC)

Well, the Deep Dungeon was DIFFICULT, but with teleport and some trick to get up the % to get it successfully it was not that much. Hey! FFT had UW! xDDD

--EDIT

Maybe FFT system using foes of the same/almost level than you could be a good idea for GW. Think about charr being lvl18 (near Nolani) because your party is full of 20s and one or two lvl13. Would make the game more fun in low level areas (heh that wouldn't be low level again). And not a problem for low level parties, they would get the same as now. High level areas should be kept as now, lvl24-28-30 of course.
